Payback Records

Payback Records inside the historic South Arcade of St Nicholas Market in Bristol. Trading for roughly 25 years under owner Paul Craine, this compact and intimate stall is highly regarded by local collectors and DJs alike for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere and fair pricing. The shop is widely celebrated as a premier destination for sound-system culture, though its crates span a vast musical landscape:

Reggae & Dub Specialization: The stall heavily focuses on all eras of Jamaican sounds, carrying everything from classic Prince Buster and Protoje to deep dub cuts and contemporary reggae artists.

Diverse Multi-Genre Crates: Beyond its Jamaican music specialties, the shop stocks a well-curated selection of vintage and new vinyl across hip-hop (including plenty of old-school gems), soul, jazz, rock, drum and bass, and urban music.

Vinyl Buying Service: In addition to selling, the shop frequently buys used vinyl collections from the public, offering fair trade values particularly for high-quality reggae records.
