Eat A Pitta

Located in the vibrant glass-roofed arcade, is a bustling, high-energy food stall known for serving up some of the most popular and authentic Mediterranean-style street food in Bristol. It boasts a lively, fast-paced atmosphere where lines move quickly thanks to efficient staff, making it a staple lunch spot for locals, workers, and visitors navigating the historic market.

Reviewers consistently highlight its exceptional value, noting that the portions are incredibly generous and packed with fresh, colorful ingredients. While there is some seating within the market area to soak up the busy surroundings, many customers choose to grab their food to go and head to nearby Castle Park on a nice day.

Signature Offerings: Famous for its perfectly crisp, golden falafel made from a legacy family recipe, served alongside thick, creamy hummus, grilled halloumi, and fresh wholemeal pitta.

The "Build-Your-Own" Experience: Customers can fully customize their pitta or salad bowls with a vibrant, piled-high selection of up to seven rotating handmade salads, sauces, and pickles.

Dietary-Friendly: The entire menu is fully vegetarian and heavily plant-based, making it an incredibly accommodating option for vegan and healthy-eating diets without compromising on bold flavor.

Caribbean Wrap

Tucked inside the lively, aromatic chaos of the Glass Arcade, Caribbean Wrap is a tiny, steadfast institution that serves up unapologetically authentic West Indian soul food. Run by J. Reid, this small but bustling stall refuses to compromise on its roots, drawing long daily queues of hungry locals who follow the scent of allspice, thyme, and scotch bonnet peppers.

What to Expect While the name says "Wrap," this spot is beloved just as much for its steaming, heavy boxes of traditional Jamaican mainstays served over perfectly cooked rice and peas. The flavors are punchy, comforting, and deeply satisfying—though seating is tight in the market arcade, so it's best enjoyed as a grab-and-go feast.

Signature Dishes & Fan Favorites Jerk Pork Belly: Highlighted by food critics as some of the best jerk pork you can find outside of a home kitchen. It’s sweet, smoky, and packs a lingering, fiery kick of garlic and allspice.

Pro-tip: This sells out fast, so arrive before 2:00 PM if it’s on your mind.

Curry Goat & Beef Curry: Rich, intensely spiced comfort food. The meat is slow-cooked until it's incredibly tender and practically falling off the bone, smothered in a deeply savory gravy.

Ackee & Saltfish: A true taste of Jamaica. The delicate, subtly sweet ackee perfectly balances the texture of the salted cod, stir-fried with fresh sweet peppers, onions, and thyme.

Traditional Sides: Don’t skip the sides—you can round out your meal with sweet, caramelised fried plantain or seasoned callaloo (steeped greens with shallots and tomatoes).

🌶️ A warning for the brave: If you like serious heat, ask for a splash of their homemade, scorching scotch bonnet sauce. It’s sweet, smoky, and absolutely lethal.
